  1. Here's an excerpt from a recent article by Jim Geraghty in the National Review Online:

Presume, for a moment, that Republicans have a really good election cycle this year: Control of the House shifts away from the Democrats, and a Republican (John Boehner?) prepares to become speaker. The Democrats lose, or almost manage to lose, control of the Senate (which they hold today by a nine-seat margin). Republican governors-elect and state legislators–elect prepare to take their oaths in state capitols across America.

What will our political landscape look like if that comes to pass?

Assuming that there's a massive and severe blood letting of Democrats, is the Obama presidency over? Or is this the shot in the arm (a la Gingrich's Contract with America in 1994) that will give the administration the wake up call it needs to get "back on track."

And what of the Tea Party movement? Are they some sort of monolithic presence that threatens the establishment for both political parties or are they Republicans in sheep's clothing?

Did the Democrats bring this on themselves by doing too much or not doing enough?

Share your thoughts below and please keep it civil.

  2. How a sweeping initiative to place solar panel on city schools' rooftops could save taxpayers millions of dollars in energy costs and create more than 5,000 green jobs. We'd be happy to use some of that money to put more solar panel on roofs, noting his office pledged $3 million in funds for a pilot program to install solar panels on school roofs.
