MIPtalk has been very fortunate to meet some incredible people during our first year that have given us access to their extensive network of contacts. One of our favorite guests (who has also become a great friend and ally) is best selling author and entrepreneur Glenn Llopis. With his support and encouragement, we recently developed the pilot for MIPtalk Studios, an on-demand video channel which we’ll be launching in the coming months.

Greetings to all of you out there in the MIPtalk Nation (with apologies to Stephen Colbert). We’ve been teasing some exciting developments about the show these past few weeks and although the image accompanying this post might lead you to believe that we’ve landed the mother of all interviews with Bill Gates, we’re not there quite yet (although there should be no doubt that such opportunities are on the horizon). What we do have to share is equally as exciting since it represents an important milestone in the journey we’ve taken thus far.

This week’s guest is Glenn Llopis. He is the prototype of the new entrepreneur whose success lies in steadfast character, passion for life and an ability to marry social responsibility with ground-breaking products and services. He combines a celebrated UCLA education with fast-tracked years at the Gallo Wine Company and Sunkist where he became the youngest senior manager in the company’s 100 year history. Leading the successful turnaround of Sunkist’s juice beverage division opened the door for his next endeavor, the vice president of the $1 billion Norway Seafood Company at only 30 years old.
